They always have something to complain about. People should realize IW is more concerned with the console community.

Again console player ignorance.
We dont complain IW has just taken an essential thing away from us, its like taking away multiplayer from CoD for you guys. If you can feel the anger we have, our community is so big there, are clans that have scrims every night, pro gaming leagues.

Has there been any word yet from IW/Activision as to why they've done this?

They must have known it would upset their PC customers.

fourzerotwo came to the BashandSlash webcast this saturday and told us that there would be no Dedi Servers etc. They were expecting something cause he said straight out yes we are changing the way PC is played online but not so big as it has become 45000 signed on the petition for dedi servers thats about $2.8 million they loose if non of them who signed the petition buys the game.

Yeah, I understand what they did and I can't say I'm surprised at the reaction, but have they said why they did it?

ohh yeah to make it easier for the regular player they say which is a load of BS if you ask me and its okay to do it just if they add dedicated servers aswell.

I must admit that sounds a bit tenuous. PC gamers are generally more than capable of setting their own games up, plus they have lots of online communities to help newcomers.

Here's something totally out there.

Let's think about the possible advantages for a minute.

What if they're actually trying draw the PC and Console communities together?

What if they're trying to get all the platforms playing the same game, so they can actually integrate them?

I remember very early on when IW said that there was gonna be something new for MW2 that was gonna make people forget all about the crazy new stuff we'd seen so far. It was gonna be that big.

Is it possible that they might be trying to go cross-platform in some way?

Nope fourzerotwo said that its never been discussed so thats not the reason i lean towards that they just dont want to spend money on porting it proper to the PC so they just copy the code and tweak it a little.

So, it looks like it's just down to good ol' economics, then.

They develop on the 360 and just wanna do a straightforward port to PC to save on production costs for what they now view as a 'minority' platform.

It's just sad to see the PC and Console communities having a pop at each other over this, when it's completely out of their hands.

Face it guys.....IW is a console oriented developer. Console gaming is the most popular type of gaming out there. More specifically the Xbox 360. And IW knows this which is why they are more focused on that side of development. Console brings in the money. Plain and simple. Like i said before, if you want to experience what IW fully has to offer, you are gonna have to buy a console. Because thats where gaming is now days.

I have to say that the above quote was the only bit of information I could find that actually shed some light on the situation. Unfortunately, for the most part, GameInformer has made their article quite inflammatory, which is why I decided to modify the title for this forum.

Yeah reading now and they call us fanboys WTF the guys at GameInformer are noobs.
We lose one more thing than they say: The ability to play a public game with your fellow clan mates, having a good laugh in many hours on the same server the guys @ IW dont know the PC platform like they should

Thanks for that. GameInformer's attitude left much to be desired IMHO.

I think it's kind of funny that PC players are so upset. I mean, they haven't even played it yet and they're already complaining. Why not just try it out, and if you honestly do not care for the new additions then just simply take it back within the warranty period and get a full refund.

Also, apparently IW thinks that what they're implementing will be better than what they had before. The community players may not think so at this time, but maybe once they actually get their hands on it they'll find it to be a much more satisfying experience. And seriously, when has IW really done something so drastic like this that it doesn't turn out to be a good thing? Activision was so opposed to IW doing Modern Warfare, and IW went ahead with it anyways and it's become one of the most played games in history. Boy was Activision wrong. And who knows, maybe the entire PC community will be wrong and this whole thing that IW has put in will be so much better than ever before.

All I'm saying is that the PC should be patient and wait till they actually play it before they make their judgement. And like I said, if you really don't like it, then take it back and get a refund. It doesn't get much easier than that.

I don't know about that Minus, but most stores will take it back as long as you've got the receipt. And Gamestop will give you a full refund if you bring the game back within a week.
