What's the deal with lvl 70 weapons?

I was expecting something pretty nifty for a lvl 70 weapon... and i get an RPG and an AK? -_- From lvl 1 to 69 you get all sorts of high-tech weaponry and gadgets, and for your final level, you get a couple of antique terrorist weapons... shocker. On the bright side, at least it wasn't like WAW where i was thinking "Flamethrower rocks... don't wanna prestige and lose it" No issues with whacking that prestige button now! (Especially as {for me at least} you start with alot of my favourite weapons! USP pistol, FAMAS AR, MP5 {starter smg, i forget the name})

I was wondering about this as well, actually. It seems sort of stupid IMO. There's no way an RPG-7 is better than an AT4 or a Javelin. Though, if the stats are right, the AK47 is one of the best rifles in the game. Still, I've never seen anyone use it. Hmm...

I seen about 3 people use the Ak-47. It's pretty nice, but it seems like they added more recoil to it . I loved the AK-47 in COD4, so i want to get a chance to use it for awhile before i prestige.

it seems to be the only assault rifle in the game with any kind of recoil... no use for it when the ACR is just as good if u ask me

After actually playing with the RPG+Danger Close... holy poo! This antique relic beats the crap out of any of the high tech gear you get! Which is just another "WTF" thing =P

... I mentioned in another thread that unlocking the final weapon(s) on the last level sucks a bit, 'cos you don't get to use them much if you want to prestige.

Maybe IW are being a bit clever here. Maybe they're not giving you the best stuff on the last level, so you feel better about prestiging?

Just a thought.

I take it the RPG has 2 rockets like in MW?

I'd say that makes it better then the AT4. I'd say anyone wanting to use the RPG isn't doing so for it's Anti-Vehicle properties.

^ Yes, the RPG comes with 2 shots. I was a huge fan of the AK in CoD4, and it's no different here. Great accuracy and high power may just keep me from prestiging. Plus, I like to have the weapon that is seldom used, and I rarely see another AK.

i was just a 70 earlier before i hit the prestige but the AK was rockin!!! im tellin you guys that they put it at 70 because it is wayyy over-powered, i was running cold-blooded with it and still killing in 3 shots.. and steady aim with it is NASTY!! i love it, at first i thought why the heck the AK for 70, then i got there and used it and realized why.. lol

and for the RPG's.... the shoot almost perfectly straight now. Smile

very easy to use, like everything in this freakin game.

My left thumb now has a blister from running around with the AK so much :\. It's easily my favorite rifle in the game and it looks sexy at the moment with red camo. The RPG is nice also but I typically don't even equip rockets, maybe as a spare class in case a harrier comes in or something.

RPG Fires straight? not at any sort of distance... but the explosion it generates is significantly bigger than the Noob Tube/Frag grenade.
