"The last time we spoke a few months back, we politely hassled you about including a bare-bones playlist. Has there been any movement in this respect?

[Robert Bowling]-It’s something that I’ve been personally advocating and I know it’s something that our community wants to see. Right now it’s not on the cards to do, but it’s definitely something I’d like to see added in the future. We’re always looking at new ways we can mix up the playlist."

Why do we keep seeing that last sentence mentioned everywhere, but fail to actually see new playlists added?

How popular do you all think a bare-bones playlist would be?

I would LOVE a bare bones playlist and I know that there are so many of us on here that would also welcome this type of playlist.

As great as the killstreaks are(to some) they do get annoying. How bout some plain old running and gunning. Back to the basic gameplay. I've had my fingers crossed that they add this in for MW2 but obviously "it's not on the cards"

At least that's what I take from it. A bare bones playlist would bring me back to MW2 in a heartbeat. Too bad.

I would love a Bare Bones Playlist... I would appreciate it so much, I would go re-buy my copy of MW2.

I don not know if 402 knows, that "sometimes in the future" can be to late for a game !? about 50% from the people on my fiends list who played MW2, are now playing BF:BC2...and it´s growing...
back on topic -> i would have liked to have a bare bones playlist at the start of MW2...not sometimes in the future.

First before I make my point - I'm all for a Bare Bones playlist and was one of several to personally ask Rob about its inclusion to MW2.

Now...

In all honestly which we all shall eventually dread and scoff at disgust. The potential of a Bare Bones playlist is not something that is obviously on the agenda when it comes to MW2...

Simply because we are not the majority (Hardcore gamers), just face it. A ton of people have purchased this game, it has pulled miraculous numeric figures and a lot of casual and/or new to the series players are involved now.

They personally wouldn't want to play a playlist were they are "robbed" of the cosmetics they are obsessed with within the game, they would probably think its a waste of their time to play the game stripped down or simply won't find the fun playing in this fashion.

With that being said its a tough decision for IW to push this kinda playlist into the current state its in (regardless if the playlist is obviously an option committed by the player) especially with the Stimulus Package promo going on. Business needs to be simplified for the consumer nowadays to get them to bite.

With the two new Stimulus playlists on their way come March 30th, the inclusion of another is just not good for the simplified business approach, especially one that takes away the cosmetic goodness that it uses as its selling point.

Hopefully when the hype of the Stimulus Package simmers down we can continue to push for another go at a Bare Bones playlist and get our wish, but as of right now even I would know not to get my hopes for the moment.

Ya, ya know what is the harm in putting an option out there? I mean if people dont want to play it, they dont have to. I see 3rd person team tactical, mercenary TDM, HQ on the list, but it doesnt mean I have to play them, and I dont. So if they can change up playlists "on the fly" why not? it just adds another option

I got a reply from 402 on the IWF forums that he had asked dev team to add a bare bones mode and the rest was down to them. This was quite a while back and since then.... nothing

IW had planned to add Bare Bones to CoD4 and then the talks regarding the addition suddenly stopped.

I definitely don't think that it's IW not caring, I'm just not exactly sure why this mode has had such a tough time seeing the light of day.

With that said, do not hold your breath for this because I can almost certainly say that we will not be playing Bare Bones in MW2...at all.

One thing puzzling me is, surely it can't be that hard to implement this mode into the game?

I've always thought the difficulty had to do with the balancing of the weapons, but I'm not sure.
