MP40 - ''n00b'' weapon. Why?

Please someone tell me why this weapon is considered so ''n00b''. I can't even use it without getting frustrated at it's lack of accuracy when firing. It's nowhere near as accessible as the P90 was in Modern Warfare, and nobody moaned about that.

Someone enlighten me?

People did moan about the P90 in MW. Most don't like it because its a "2-hit kill."

I'm sure Matt could fill you in on why the MP40 isn't overbalanced Wink

In my experience in Modern Warfare more people moaned about the M16 w/ a red dot. Who's Matt?

Um, yes? I was one of WePlayCoD's first followers on twitter. I even suggested way back ago that they should have a forum and get a better banner. although I'm sure I was one of many.

I personally do better with the Thompson than the MP-40, but I have a theory of why the MP-40 seems overpowered. Since it bounces upwards it tends to hit the upper chest and head a lot more often than the other guns, which adds to the shot multiplier and gets a lot of accidental headshots. That's just my opinion on it though. I do feel it's kind of a cheap weapon, but at the end of the day, to each their own.

It's definitely one of the easiest if not the easiest gun to use and do well with. But hey, there will always be a "best" gun in a game. Some say that would be the MP40 in WaW.

WePlayCoD's first MP-40 thread! I was wondering how long it would be before one would pop up. I personally do better with the Thompson also, but once you need to pick up a gun, it's more than likely gonna be an MP-40. The gun itself doesn't bother me, it's when it's used with Jug.

I am not going to lie, I hate the MP40, it is so easy to use. People know how I feel about WaW.

I just think if we are going to go as far as hate weapons for their high weapon damage and for being 'too easy to use' why don't people take a step back and realise COD it's self is a relatively easy and accessible game to play anyway? I bet people don't say anything about that.

Which means it doesn't need to be any easier. You just called all MP40 users unskilled, which is absolutely true. MP40 w/dual mags, Stopping Power/Jugg, Steady Aim/Martyrdom on every single map and game mode hip-spraying their non-existent balls off.

Ruins the Core modes of multiplayer WaW.

If you can't tell, I hate the MP40. My permanent clan tag is [FkMp]. Decode that if you please.

I too am more of a Thompson fan myself. I rarly use the MP-40 due to the high backfire. Occasionally i might use it, at the least get the challenges for it but rarely on a regular basis. Many people swear by it but, every one has a right to use what they feel will get them to the top. To me the MP-40 aint really the gun for me.

While I do use the MP40 quite a bit (mostly cuz I don't care what people think of me), I prefer the Ppsh. Unfortunately I have to wait till 53 to get it, so the MP40 comes out until the STG, then it's a mix.

I wouldn't say it's a "noob" weapon though, but I also wouldn't say anything is a "noob" weapon. To me, it's a game and it will always be that.....a game. If something has to consider a weapon/tactic "noob"-ish, they are taking the game a little too seriously.

I dont use it whenever I do play core. I usually stick to the type 100 since its been my favorite since the beta. The MP 40 is a very strong gun and it does piss me off when I get killed by it but its part of the game.

look at cod4 every gun kills as fast as the mp40, its just more noticeable on waw because no other guns have that power.

Every game has this noob gun debate ... I played a few nights ago and everyone had that type of set up mentioned above ... I just stayed back and picked them off long range ..

Adjust your playing style to what your being challenged with ... adapt to it

The debate will always be going on , P90 , MP 40 and what ever fast rate of fire gun MW2 will have

It's impossible to be "bad" at WaW when all you use is an MP40...

Good =/= Skilled
Bad =/= Unskilled

I agree with this 100%. The MP-40 just really isn't my favorite. There are other better ones, in my opinion.
