Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Perhaps some of you have heard about this game and I remember hearing about it back when MW came out. It seems its supposed to be super realistic and a pretty sweet game. I've heard its supposed to be a real time multiplayer game where people can specialize in being a sniper, Heavy machine gunner or even a mechanic.
Any one know if its going to be released anytime soon?

i think it comes out with in the next 2 months ... I am going to hold off for the buy till i play a demo ... this game has some good promising stuff with it but also its been in a long time making game and I am not sold on it as of now ...

I most likely will get it from Gamefly once it comes out. It looks very promising. It looks a lot like Battlefield Bad Company, but still, it looks good. Probably not as good as MW2 though. Wink

Ive been following this game for awhile now. I keep spamming the RK1 forums with info regarding this game. Im hoping this game is as good as it looks. But we will see. Ill write up a review and post it here when the game comes out.

This will be a mix of MMO, FPS, strategery Smile

, and military sim. Basically if BFBC met MW2 in a bar, eff'd and had a kid........ it would be OFP:DR. Personally Ill be getting MW2, OFP:DR, AND BFBC2. Anyone know of any hand exercises so my fingers wont get cramped? (keep yo mind outta da gutta kids)

Ya...unfortunately they replaced their testers with retarded monkeys, This game is full of so many bugs. I wish i wouldnt have bought it.

I don't agree with that rating. I skimmed through it and noticed they didn't like the fact that you couldn't choose your loadout.... as I recall, Call of duty 4 did not have that option.

If they took off rating for that then they truly have a limited perspective on games.

The game IS decent for the amount of stuff its packed with. I do not recall encountering any bugs. I have it for PC and they haven't released any patches yet. The MP needs help, but its still solid. I also like the fact on the PC is you can edit the missions, create your own, etc. Fill up the whole island with anything and everything you want.

Back on the pricing.. $60 isn't worth it. Oi, & 26 days til MW2 and I won't touch this game!

I've not had a ton of time with it, but I've enjoyed the time I have played. As expected, it's a lot different than Call of Duty.

It's always nice to have a good change of pace though. And yes, there are a few bugs (i.e. spawning w/out weapon model, spawning as incapacitated, etc).
