MW2 Midnight Launch

I'm sure everyone here is going to the midnight launch for MW2, correct?! Hm, I guess it was kind of a silly question, but! I have a favor (question) to ask of y'all. (I hope you guys can help!)
I work at GameStop and I was asked to work the midnight launch at my store since I'm the go to girl when it comes to COD and such. I want to plan something just out of this world awesome for my store that night.
Question: What kind of stuff would you like to do/see at a midnight launch event? Namely, (of course!) Modern Warfare 2.
Some suggestions:
- Costume contest
- LAN party/small tourney (I'm kind of an artist and I was going to make a custom painting for the winner or something of the sort)
- EZ Up standee thing where everyone can take pictures
- Food! (Pizza, soda, chips, baked goods etc.)
Anything would be super helpful! The clock is winding down and I gotta plan this cause I know the guys at my work (I'm the only girl) won't be helping me out too much! Any input would be great!

Although I know my EB Games near me is just Midnight launching to pre-orders, if I were planning it, here's my wishlist.
A pre-play event, come at maybe 10:30-12:00, and there will be a few stations where you can play a single player mission or an LAN game.
Food seems like too much of a mess, but maybe some drinks.
I'm not at all a big fan of costumes, so that I'm not going to give any thought about.
As for the tournament, definitely
I think that one of the prizes should be one of the MW2 Controllers, if that becomes available as a prize. Maybe T-shirts or something? A CoD themed painting would actually be pretty damn sweet. I'd take that home as my prize.
Not sure what else. Mostly the pre-play is what I would be concerned about. Use the excuse that Australians have had the game for 16 hours before you (assuming you're Mountain time zone)

I was hoping that my store would have a tournament or just a lan party until it reaches midnight. Since you work at gamestop, when would be the best time to show up for the midnight release?

Make sure you take care of the folks in the inevitabley long queue!
For example, if your gonna have people playing the game in-store, make sure you also feed the signal(s) to nice big screens located up high, so everyone else can watch while they stand in line.

My local Gamestop is tryin to work with the Army Reserve thats from around here and bring in some military vehicles for people to see/sit in and whatnot.

i wish i worked at gamestop!!! i would try to set up a LAN tourny with some prizes, maybe like the first 10 people in line get something special, and maybe even like a raffle where people can buy tickets at midnight or 1 you guys could raffle off a bundle package or something.. i hope something cool happends at the midnight release in my town in nor-cal.

I was thinking about bringing in some military personnel, namely some Marines because I'm pretty sure the Marine bases are the closest things to my store.
Food would be kind of messy, but drinks would be good, maybe some finger foods.
Okay, I see the tourny idea is something that everyone likes, but it can't be with MW2 before midnight. There are severe penalties if you play/sell a game before it's intended date.
Shoot, I'll dress up in some super sexy fatigues. I'll wear my NV goggles and jump out of the shadows at the unsuspecting customers, like a ninja. A USMC ninja..
But yeah, in all seriousness, I have a month to talk to and do:
- The city, because I'm sure they have event coding/zoning rules/permits I have to deal with
- Volunteers -- Marines, possibly parents and police for security and just general oversight
- Sponsors for swag: going to talk to Robert and Monster to see if they can help with anything
- Donations!

. Unfortunately I can't play modern warfare 2 the day it comes out. I've preordered it but I'm on a trip 8th-12th

All my GameStop is doing:
- Start standing outside at 10:00pm
- Starting at midnight, 5 people max in the store at a time to get their game.
- Police will be there.

Forget the event!! I just want my game and wanna get home as soon as I can to play it. I could care less about all the other stuff going on. I am greedy and selfish lol.
Real tourneys are lots of work for COD and my Tva has since done 3 for COD4, I can't for the MW2 ones. A little O/T, but any of you guys actually participate in a live tourney?

My GameStop is getting a Hummer from the Army Reserve next to it and possibly a Heli from the Navy Reserve by it too. I'm getting prestige and playing it nonstop til school the next morning. (If my mom will let me) I'm going at midnight too.

Just got done talking to my local GameStop manager and he said that they "may" get the Marines or Army guys out so we can drive in the Hummers. 
He also said they were renting a huge HDTV and were gonna set it outside and play.. Modern Warfare 2. YES, BEFORE midnight. rofl

and our local GS isnt doing anything for launch, and like others have posted, it's for pre-orders only
