Killstreak Question

Should i use the harriers or the attack helo
btw im new 2 the forum so sorry if i broke a rule or something

First off, and no you didn't break any rules.

As far as which killstreak to use, that's really just a matter of preference. Your best bet is to try em both out and see which one you like best. If you're referring to just the standard Harrier and not Harrier Strike, then they're pretty much equal (i believe).

Like Minus said just try them out. They can both get several kills but from my experience a well placed harrier can sometimes get 10+ kills pretty fast. But it has it's disadvantage of not moving around as much as the attack helicopter so people are more than likely going to try and shoot it down.

Whenever i have a 10 kill streak i get over excited and get killed which gets me killed and then i feel Mad

Heh, yeah I typically don't go for the ac-130. I seem to get my highest streaks when I'm not constantly thinking about it but still playing strategically.

since this was a killstreak forum topic instead of startind a whole new thread i have a question two....

When you get a care package or emergency air drop the killstreak reward you get does not count towards something else (Ex. If you get an AC130 from a care package ...14 more kills after the AC130 and you will NOT GET A NUKE) Is this exception only for care packages? or if I get a pave low and it gets some kills for me they as well wont count towards a nuke?.....srry hard to word hope u guys understand

You have it right. Anything you get from a care package, whether it be pave low, ac-130, harrier, sentry gun or whatever doesn't count towards your kill streak. If you have any of those setup as your killstreak then of course it will count towards your killstreak rewards.

Certain killstreaks contribute to other ones you get when you dont get a care package, however I thought that other then the predator missile most killstreaks dont contribute?????

Harrier is better it's a lil weaker then a helicopter (and a lil more on top of that when you think of the pave low), but you get a airstrike out of it and it does pretty much the same thing. Only time I found a heli was really better was when people didnt shoot it down and neglected to use cold perks. Also, as far as I know it shoots other helicopters down when its airborne, and I know for a fact it hovers in one spot when it provides gunner support which is effective in quite a few games (more so then a heli that goes all over the place, specifically where the enemy is not).

Eh, with the harrier if you place it in a place where you know people will be running through alot you typically get 8-14 kills'ish. Plus since it's only a 7 streak, it's not that hard to get multiple times in a match. Plus if you get a chopper.. that thing just seems too powerful on some maps but it is fun nonetheless when you have it.

If your goal is chopper gunner or ac-130 go with the Hstrike. It will get you to 11 kills faster with a decent placement of your bomb. I typically KS to 7, Hstrike, Chopper Gunner, Nuke. Easy mode on certain levels.

Depends on the job you want doing tbh. I use harrier strike but mainly because i play domination, and for holding/clearing a capture point, Harrier works better because it stays on the spot. For random killing, i'd probably choose the attack chopper though

what are your thoughts on the ac-130 vs the chopper gunner?
personally i find the ac-130 easier and more fun to use

I find you can get pretty much the same amount of kills with both. Personally I prefer the AC-130 purely because it makes stuff go "BOOM!", but more importantly, it's harder to shoot down =)

Yeah, I agree with Unstoppable Ace on this one. The kills are easier to get with the Chopper Gunner but it's ALOT easier to shoot down. But like the rest of the killstreaks, it's all preference.

I have used both a lot and while the AC130 was my first "love", the chopper gunner got me the most kills and gave me a nuke several times. As long as you're quick to shoot at the enemy, who is trying to take you out with a launcher then you'll definitely last a while as the chopper gunner. With an AC130, it's a hit and miss, but because the chopper shoots out explosive rounds, it can still kill a dude (or a dudette) with only a few feet away. OH and also if they are behind cover, you can shoot near the entry way/door way and still get multiple kills.

Although i h8 camping if i get to my 10 killstreak i will dissapear til someone runs past me,lol

That said i did get to 24 kill streak the other day and just as i was heading for my nuke i got knifed in the back.....Not just killed but KNIFED i felt dizzy sick. even thought about retiring from cod,lol

I was on Wasteland the other week with my RPD out in the grass on a 22-23 streak and heard an enemy predator missile was inbound. I just had a gut feeling the guy was going to choose my little red box and he certainly did Mad

I got my harrier ( using hardline cuz ACR has great stoping power) and I called it in, and I got not a single person. So I camped ( yes, I admit it, I wanted a nuke) and got a Pave Low. Didn't. Get. Anyone.

So I was 9 away, and all but one guy on the enemy team left. And then the match ended. >:-(

Maybe you need to work on your harrier location? If you're not sure where to place it, wait for a uav to be called in or put it in a populated area. Pave low is effective on certain maps but on some it just isn't effective at all. Chopper gunner and a quick trigger finger is is the way to go Smile

i prefer the attack helo since it scans the map but since its CPU controlled, and it all depends if the enemy team has cold blooded on or not, and if the shoot it down or if they just ignore it. but the pave low does more dammage and using player contolled killstreaks like a chopper gunner is great since you can kill people even if they have cold blooded on.

first of all it all depends on what ur goin for and ur personal preferences. i either use harrier chopper gunner nuke, pred harrier chopper gunner, (search and destroy) uav care package emergency airdrop,,,,,, care package, emergency airdrop, emp (that obe is when i want to have fun just fot the hell of it...
