auto-aim

auto aim can be pretty annoying...such as when sniping your sighted in on an enemy, about to shoot, and another enemy runs across your vision, auto aim follows him, gets you off target, and you die. does anyone know how to permanetly turn auto aim off?

On CoD4 I think it was an option in the single player menus somewhere, so take a look there on MW2.

While on the subject, does anyone know if auto-aim only works in single player anyway?

I think he was on about aim assistance more than auto aim. On multi player if you have aim assistance on you lock on for a split second whilst on single player it actually aims for you by pulling the left trigger.

ADS (auto aim) also works in MP to an extent it does not obviosly snap to the player like in campaign. get sleight of hand pro and it even works better a faster ADS

I would love to turn that off, it has never helped me...to my knowledge....

auto-aim/aim assist is not ADS...

ads= Aim Down Sight
auto aim= programming in game intended to help follow who you are ads'ing at

that might be, but when I'm sniping I would rather not have the Aim Assist, the only time I notice it, is when it costs me a kill

The only time i even notice the aim assist/sleight of hand improvement to it is when i come up on a sniper at close range and the killcam shows him whipping the scope up (without going to the scope screen), firing off a bullet, and lowering the rifle.
Often blowing my brains out of the back of my face.
Personally i never notice it till it drags me off one target if another runs across my screen

Sleight of Hand Pro decreases the time you look down the sight. = Faster Aim Down Sight.

It has been proven and its pretty obvious.
