any tips on how to get marathon/lightwieght pro?

i think its stupid that you have to run so far to get the pro perk for lightweight and marathon (i know a marathon is 26miles so it makes sense) and i was wondering if anyone in this forum has got marathon or lightweight pro. If you have, can you please tell me how you did it because there must be a simpler way to do it instead of running around a map aimlessly for 30games

I must admit i cheated for mine.

Me and a friend went into a 3rd person cage match and it just so happened to be rust,. so all we did is ran around the map and the same for sub base,lol

Did it in 2.

That literally is the simplest way to go about getting both Pro versions, as you have to sprint for a certain distance.

Choice of game mode could help you out though. I'd say CTF and/or Domination would give you a good chance to rack up some mileage. I'd also stay away from sprinting "aimlessly", as that will only ruin your k/d. You really don't even need to sprint around the whole map. Just stay on the move wherever you may be, whether it be your spawn or their spawn.

PS- I'll also say that I strongly advise against any form of cheating/boosting to obtain these. *cough Taffy cough*

i ran for a whole game of CTF on wasteland, i ran round the whole map on the outside twice and i just ran up and down one side about 5 times and i only got about 2-3miles Sad

i also heard apparently if you continuously run into a wall it counts towards the miles needed but i dunno if its actually true - does anyone know if it helps or not. btw thanks for the help

I would imagine it counts as long as your sprint is activated, so in theory, that should work.

Give it a try. Hmm, would that be considered "wall boosting"?

I did it on CTF, marathon, lightweight, and commando pro, as soon as I spawn I am sprinting and try to avoid "common areas" just heading to the other flag and the back to the base, avoiding the common areas does not
rack up kills LOL but just long enough to hit the 26 mile marker. Marathon and
lightweight PRO is def. worth it

i was playing with this setup and got it pretty fast and i didnt fudge up my KD ratio..

UMP45 w/ silencer
USP w/ tactical knife
semtex / stun
Marathon
lightweight
ninja pro

maybe an idea

I know shameful as it is but i couldnt justify the reason to inc them in my classses,lol

just keep using them both and eventully you'll get them. I recommend ninja pro as well, so that the enemies don't hear your random runnings....

I'm trying to get sitrep pro... I have it on every class and it's still taking ages! Not as many people as you would expect use claymores etc.

yeah, whenever in a big map go to a big dark corner, possibly a building/house and run around in circles the whole match. Yes may seem boring but hey it works.

P.S. you can call it boosting, if you were doing it with a friend, but your not, your doing it by yourself.

I've seen folks do something that I would imagine would suite your application pretty well. They equip a knifing class and do nothing but knife all game. Running non-stop and then when you see someone hit the knife button. That way you get both perks and kills.

Agree completely. Run around using tactical knife w/marathon.

Working on unlocking these this time around.

I have to say though, running around w/ Marathon, Lightweight, Commando, and a Tactical Knife is absolutely the most fun I've had in MW2.

I know it annoys the hell outta the other team, but it's too darn fun to not use.

Exactly right. I've had a few nights where I want to use/do something different. That's when I pull out my P90, USP w/ tac knife, Marathon, Lightweight and Commando. I know it's annoying, but hella fun!!

Getting the 26 is easy. Im currently trying to complete the perk challenge for those two. 104 miles is a lot of sprinting, but Im currently at 77 on my xbox and 90+ on my PS3. I play alot of FFA and use my speed setup on Underpass and Highrise. When those maps come up, I simply run a circle. Here's pics of my route. Read the second and third post on this page. Note that I routinely win these FFA just by running that circle.

set up UMP-45 with these perks and run around forever. Dont worry about kills just try to run non stop around the map(s)

Set Up A Knife Class:

Get a Care Package.
Use Marathon, Lightweight, and Commando and just run around with the care package in your hand or use a pistol with a tactical knife or just a plain pistol (USP or M9 preferably since they are lighter).

Actually according to fourzerotwo he said they were not going to do anything about the running-knife class set-up quite frankly it is easy to beat anyways.
