Post by Kyled55 Wed Jan 20, 2010 5:56 pm

Lately ive been having problems with my connection. Ive had 1 bar in all of my matches when i usualy have full bars or almost full bars. My knifes are late and my grenades are late also. I have trouble finding matches too. Can anyone help me and give me some hints on what i should do? Should i try to reset my router or something? Im not even that far away from it. Im >10 from my router! its not a range problem i know that!

Thanks

***EDIT***
I ended up resetting it and it worked good

How many other computers and other things are running off your internet ? I know sometimes that yur internet slows down when you have a couple of other pieces of equipment running off the same internet, but yeah you could try just refreshing it I know that helps my connection out when it seems to be slow.

What kind of router do you have? You might think about getting a 25 foot ethernet cable and running it from your router to your PS3. You can search for a firmware update, for example mine is a Belkin Wireless G router with 4 ethernet ports on the back, so i would google "belkin wireless G router firmware update"

Just to state the obvious in case you didnt know..... The bars in game are for the overall connection and have nothing to do with the wireless in your house btw the router and ps3/xbox. With that said you just need to troubleshoot it. Start by eliminating stuff. Like run a cord to the console to rule out your wireless. Like other have said upgrade your firmware and so on.

Well I don't think he needs the ethernet cord if his signal was fine before, anyways yeah he may just need an update for his router or maybe just needs to refresh it, I know that usually helps out a lot anyways.

Wireless is your problem!!!!

You should run an ethernet cord if you are that close to your router. You may have had luck in the past with your wireless but even you have to admit to yourself that you get periods where this has happened in the past... maybe not as prolonged as this stint but wireless tech just is not as reliable as ethernet cable straight to your router.

If you insist upon using wireless you might also try reseting your router to the factory defaults. I had a wireless router's speed crap out on me at one point and resetting to factory defaults fixed all my problems.

Best of luck.
