By default, the flags do not return themselves, that was a setting that happened to be on during that particular game.

Most likely, but why in the world would they "accidentally" showcase CTF with that setting, which we've been asking for since pre-release CoD4. Just seems a little fishy to me.

In any case, I'm glad that it's not auto-return by default.

It's nice that that setting is in there though, you could make up quite a few game modes with just that one setting.

Yeah, same here.. Althought I quite like the idea of the modern CTF, it does require a whole load of teamwork.... Me and my friends..... not gunna happen. I'll probably still like Ground War, or Old School Free For All, if they keep it.

The more I think about it, an auto-return flag would be ideal for a Hardcore version of CTF.

Auto-return as in what was shown in the flag funner vid. If the flag carrier dies, the flag auto-returns to the home base instead of a friendly touching it to return it.

That has since been changed for MW2, but it wouldn't be a bad idea for HC CTF.

I believe it should be interesting, with all the work IW has put in for MW2 I think they just didn't want to add the traditional FPS stuff but rather add a twist to the basic gametypes of today. I for one hope they would add a War game type with they're own variation like what they did here with Falg Runner.
