Restriced Party Chat??? WTF!?!?

Ok, everytime i play cod 4, i am in a party of like 3 to 8 ppl. i hate being in an in game chat, cuz i hate talking to the other kids, and i want to be able to talk to my other friends that arent playing cod. Are they seriously not letting you be in a party when you play? that has to be the most retarded thing ive ever heard.

I think everybody needs to chill out here. Lawton, you should of considered the title of the topic better. However, I think being told once is enough. No need to harp on him again and again.

This 100%.

One of the very first things that I found out when the NXE was released was that I could abuse the system and gain an unfair advantage in S&D. In S&D a team's greatest weapon is good communication and because of this people would cause quite a bit of damage to their team if they died. Once the NXE was released, people that died had an easy way of communicating with their teammate, even from the dead. This is simply an unfair advantage and ruins the balance of the game variant. If you don't like it, don't play S&D or Domination. Party chat is the reason why I quit playing S&D, so I can't blame them for putting in the block. If you can't keep yourself from talking to your friends for ten minutes... Well then, that's your problem - and you should probably lay off of the video games for a little bit.

I don't mind the block as long as it is strictly for S&D. It doesn't matter for games that have respawns IMO, but it doesn't really matter too much for me. I just get tired of hearing screaming little kids and annoying trash talkers that really aren't any good and do it just to be annoying. If it ends up being a block on all things I will be switching my settings back to only being able to communicate with friends.

This should be for Search and Destroy! Its real simple - Its prevents cheating. Nothing more to it, I'm an avid Search and Destroy player and I welcome this addition and its about time someone did it.

I think it's a really good addition to MW2. This will prevent people from joining on opposite teams and working together to kill each other's teammates and get points for planting bombs/destroying HQs etc.

Nope. It restricts party chat in every playlist except for TDM and FFA.

I dont think its a bad thing u can still mute ppl, just dont be soo lazy. haha in-between matches u can also take ur headset and mute ur tv if u want.... idk i dont think its a bad thing i'm sure a lot of ppl will be happier when they are the last person on the other team and no one knows where u r cus u cant talk to ur teammates...

Many people have already said party chat is out of Headquarters and Demolition also, but I guess we will have to wait

As have I. Party chat is available is alomst every game mode except for a few. ive seen quite a few streams of people playing TDM (not Merc TDM as that isnt a game mode in MW2) and are in party chat. Once again....check the WPC blog for current game modes confirmed to have restricted party chat.

also, it might not be such a bad thing. ever since the party chat was instituted, not many people talk in game, this will allow for more teamwork and more friend requests
